Over the past few months we’ve published detailed, fact-checked guides to real free and near-free things to do in 30 destinations across four continents — the free viewpoint instead of the paid observation deck, the courtyard nobody charges to enter, the trail that costs nothing but a decent pair of shoes. No fabricated “hidden gem” listicles: every guide below is a full write-up with practical timing, crowd-avoidance and transport tips, not a five-line placeholder.
This page is the index — one place to find all 30, grouped by region. We’ll keep adding to it as we publish more.

Why we built this
Most “free things to do” content online is thin — a rewritten Wikipedia paragraph and a stock photo. Ours isn’t: each guide above covers actual logistics (opening hours, how to skip the queue, what to bring, how to get there without paying for parking) because a free attraction you can’t actually find or reach isn’t really free.
If you’re writing about budget travel and want to link to a specific city, feel free to link directly to that guide — or to this index if you’re covering the idea more broadly. We’ll keep adding destinations as we publish them.
